Virtual Cat

I was reminiscing with a friend about Zork after he discovered my IF pages. I have to say, it would have been difficult to imagine, in the 80’s, that I would be able to play Zork on my phone.
I had to admit to myself that WoW and Everquest are as fun and complicated as Nethack. I know thats a very nerdy thing to say and think but for so many years the graphical games were as not interesting and complex. I think I still prefer Everquest but WoW has the advantage that I can play it with restraint.
Its hard to imagine why there are people who don’t play. As my warlock Dakinii, I can wield great and destructive elemental power. I have a blue demon minion and can wear a pointy hat. My virtual Siamese follows me around and is as helpful as the real thing. (And in two levels I get a flaming black horse)
Speaking for myself, the thing holding me back from big multi-player fun is the inability to put the virtual world on hold when the real world demands my attention. I might try it again when something meanful can be achieved in a half-hour block, but it’s hard to imagine playing MMORPG that way.
That said, you’re funny… though I do agree most everybody would enjoy wearing a virtual pointy hat from time to time.
Its not like EQ. You can solo and do fine so you don’t need to wait around for a party. I think you can play in short blocks.
I can’t say why but I love the hats. I had a straw one before the pointy hat. No hats in real life though.
