Paisley Park is in Your Heart
April 5th 2007 by Leisa in generalI was listening to a podcast today and the speaker mentioned the word paisley. Its something I haven’t seen or thought about lately. I had a red paisley skirt in college. The prince song went through my mind. I realized I didn’t know anything about the paisley except what it looks like.
It is a ornate asymmetrical teardrop pattern from Persian (Iranian) but its western name derives from a town in central Scotland.
The paisley design resembles and is consistent with the shape of the Indian and/or European medicinal leech. The paisley design often incorporates pregnant leeches; and a body cavity containing baby leeches
