Lunch Blackmail

November 16th 2006 by Leisa in general

I am the maker of lunches around our house. Typically I have a hard time engaging Paul in the process.  I expect he is trying to be easy going but I get frustrated that I can’t get any traction on the whole thing.

Tuesday morning was different. He was full of very specific instruction on how he wanted a Ham sandwitch made. Mayo on one slice, a certian mustard on the other, ham, lettuce, swiss cheese. And to top it off further direction on how it was to be sliced.

I told him in less than polite terms that there would be no slicing.  In the end the sandwich was sliced.  To be a smartass, i got out a sharpie and wrote love notes on the sandwich, including a big heart with an arrow going through it. While drawing it I remembered clearly learning to do it in Kindergarten. Practicing hearts and arrows and then using the technique to make ears of wheat.

That evening, Paul told me someone found the sandwich. Took it out of the fridge, downstairs and photocopied it.  The Forensics Scientist in question decided he wanted to keep a file on people to bring out at later date. How strange is that.

It’s strange indeed… but of course the very strange part is what will be in Paul’s file. “Ham Sandwich - November 16″. Wild stuff at the forensics lab!
