Candy by the Handful

I had 3 sets of Trick-or-Treaters last night. I bought candy in advance and then realized neither of us would be home before 8:30. I encouraged the kids to take two handfuls. The little girl next door took this very seriously, screwed up her face and gave it her best shot. She got three the first time and five the next try. She was pleased with her self and told me she got more that time.
Two of the kids were teens and dressed like mimes and didn’t talk. It was cute but my voice felt tinny to me when I talked to them realizing they wouldn’t talk back. It reminded me of when a person is whispering for no reason. Its hard not to follow along.

We didn’t buy candy this year. Like you, planned to be away. I forgot to turn off the lights and sure enough there were three kids (nearly too old to be out) at the door at 5:55.
I had some hard candies so didn’t get a trick. And then I turned off all the lights until it was time to go.
