Brand New Computer

20 inch iMacMy iMac came today.  I was due for a new computer. I’m so sick of Hp’s and the noisy fans.  But when I look at PC’s the HPs look best.

The Fex Ex guy acted like Santa Claus. He was excited to deliver it. He said he wished he could make all of the women in his life this happy. I said do they all want new computers? He said yes.

We had been trying to see if there was a way to make a mac work out. I have to have Windows for work and I telecommute quite a lot.  There is enterprise software and connectivity issues that require windows.

It seems like now is the time to make the switch. Paul came up with the solution. He gets my old pc until it dies and I get parallels running. It seems to work like a charm. I have just got right click and filesharing to work and I can connect to the Kaiser network using NRAS. I was able to use my upgrade copy of Windows 2000. and the whole operating system comes up in a window. Very cool.

Radio Acting Class

I’m taking a Radio Acting class at PCC. My motivation is to learn voice techniques that will improve the quality of my PodCast. I’ve made all the improvements equipment can buy.

The instructor is Michael Whelan and this is the class blurb from his website.

Use comic scripts to explore the world of radio acting and creating a dynamic, expressive voice. Please see class description for “Discover Your Voice,” as all those ideas will be incorporated into this class. Learn stage dialects and ways to play with your voice to create comic characters. The music of stage dialogue will be stressed to add vitality and energy to your voice. Comic timing and ways to play the microphone will be taught as well. In fall 2006, the class results in an informal performance of ghostly plays the night before Halloween.
