Paul got motivated to work on the garage. For my part I was really not interested at all. I felt compelled to go along with it because it seemed highly unlikely that we would every be both excited at the same time to work on it.
I am such a pack rat. Found all kinds of crazy things; My old tricycle license plate, debate trophies, etc. Loaded up the Truck with Goodwill offerings. I recycled my old exams and teacher evaluations from when I taught mathematics at Utah State University.
I found evidence that I am really a silly person. Here are some questions from the Exams I gave in 1990
Exam 3, Math 101, Winter 1990, Thompson
10. BYU Coded “Penny” finds it difficult to shave her massive legs. It usually takes her 115 minutes to accomplish this task. Because her roomate doesn’t want to wait for the bathroom for that long, she decides to help. Together the task is done in an hour and a half. If for some reason Penny was unconsious, and her roomate had to do it by herself, how long would it take?
Exam 4, Math 101, Spring 1990, Thompson
10. Greg and Roy ride their mountain bikes up Blacksmith Fork Canyon. They become lost. After wandering around for hours they come across a bunch of drunks around a campfire. The drunks agree to drive Greg and Roy home, a distance of 40 miles back to Logan. The drunks drove 15 miles, from the canyon to Hyrum, then Greg took over and drove to Logan 20 miles per hour faster. Driving time for the entire trip was 80 minutes. Find the drunks speed from the Canyon to Hyrum.
Final Spring 1990, Math 101, Thompson
19. Zoro likes to carve his trade mark “Z” into the bellies of evil doers. His “Z” is 4/3 times as high as it is wide. The local bad guy has the largest tummy in the province. If Zoro carves a 5 foot diagonal onto his stomach, how tall is the “Z”?
