Spent the weekend in Port Townsend, Washington. I took a workshop with Mary Greer at the Rising Phoenix. The winding roads reminded me of the Hood 2 Coast route. I kept expecting Paul to stop the car for me to run 6 miles.

We stayed at the The Chanticleer Inn. The proprietors are Carie and Alain Bude. Alain is French and a French Antique Dealer. Sunday morning I made lace in the living room. I’ve had this project on my travel pillow for years since I only work on it while traveling. Alain not only knew what I was doing but was able to identify the lace while walking past as Bayeaux Lace. He was born in a town 100Km from Bayeaux.

I’ve joined the Synchronized Skating team that practices at the Lloyd Center on Thursdays. I tried it for one session a year ago but it was way too terrifying. This time around it’s just pretty scary. These ladies are really strong skaters and tear down the ice. Ruth is willing to help me out with the outside Mohawk.

Synchronized skating was created in 1956. At that time, some skaters were performing synchronized routine during the intermission of hockey game. It started in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Our front deck got a nice stain on Friday. Working in your front yard brings all of the neighbor out of the woodwork. Paul got advice for everything from how not to stain your deck to how to run the marathon. We blocked off the access way to the deck because of the fresh stain. Some genius still came up and rang the door bell. Must have climbed the the Rhoddies to do it.
